Hayden is a Canadian trekking guide who speaks English, German and fluent Japanese. After completing a bachelor degree in criminology it didn't take a detective to realized that his passion was for the mountains and not for police work.  Since then, Hayden has focus on a life of adventure and exploration in the mountains.

Haydens experience spans over a decade guiding in Asia, from the Volcanoes of Hokkaido to the high passes of the Himalayas.  In the summer he can also be found working as a Trekking Guide in the European Alps and in the Lyngen Alps of Norway.

Aurora Backcountry is proud to have Hayden as our Lead Trekking Guide.  His witty sense of humor, photography talent, and amazing ear for languages are a huge bonus to his diverse guiding experience.
Hayden is always advancing his skills and is working toward becoming a fully certified ACMG Ski Guide using a Split Board.
