In New Zealand there are multiple heli skiing companies that share ski terrain.  While we usually try to avoid this terrain so that we avoid crossing tracks sometimes this terrain is the place to be depending on the previous storms.  If we leave early we get all the fresh snow and first runs. This allows us to plan the day as if we are the only skiers in the mountain. Another advantage is that the temperature is usually colder and therefore the snow is higher quality.
