We have 2500 km2 of ski terrain for you to explore. Now you may think this to be huge but keep in mind this doesn't include the even larger area that we can fly and land. Add these up and you are looking at an area in excess of 15000 km2!!! Now imagine going on a heliski safari where you can ski every mountain range in our operating zone combined with a scenic flight to the most inaccessible and remote vistas in the South Island.

Our Explorers Package is ideal for families and groups that want to see and ski it all. Mixed ability is not a problem as our guides are the best in NZ and can customise the operational plan to accommodate all abilities and expectations. We even have the ability to guide families with children as young as 6 years old. If needed we can provide 2 guides to ensure that quality remains at the highest standard. At Aurora Backcountry quality is our biggest priority. Quality can only be achieved by maintaining a high level of safety, focusing on the needs of our guests, and exceeding their expectations. This package can literally take you anywhere in the South Island, and because of this the price is determined completely on distance.
