Tatu Autio

Born and raised in Helsinki, Finland, Tatu developed his connection to the mountains through rock climbing in his early teens. What began as a passion for climbing quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit, taking him across Europe and into increasingly complex alpine environments. 

After years of climbing throughout Europe, Tatu expanded his focus to winter mountaineering and skiing, building extensive experience in both alpine ascents and ski descents across the European Alps. His progression through these disciplines eventually led him to pursue a professional career in guiding. 

Tatu is a fully certified IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide, completing his certification in 2018 after years of dedicated training and experience. With over two decades spent in the mountains, he has developed a well-rounded skill set across climbing, skiing, and alpine travel. 

Now guiding professionally between the European Alps and Northern Norway, particularly the Lyngen Alps, Tatu shares his experience with clients from around the world. His approach is grounded in long-term mountain experience and a deep understanding of both technical terrain and changing conditions.
